Great-West Life minimum training requirements going forward for massage therapists in Quebec.
We have reviewed the concerns and determined that there is no major impact on massage therapists who are currently actively employed as massage therapists. Our decision is to maintain our requirements however we have extended our effective date to April 01, 2020.
As of April 1st, 2020, Great-West Life will require that all newly trained massage therapists complete a minimum 1000 hours of massage therapy training or education to be considered an eligible provider under our benefits plans.
The attached document provides details on how Great-West Life will determine eligibility for massage therapists who graduate before April 01, 2020 and those who are graduating on or after April 01, 2020.
