      Who is the championship for?<\/div>
      \nTo all professionals in the massage therapy sector and beauticians who draw the strength of their know-how from manual massage. This most valuable tool is the basis of their work.<\/p>\n

      • <\/i> Hold a Diploma of Professional Studies (DEP) in aesthetics or massage therapy.<\/li>\n
      • <\/i> For massage therapist, be part of an association.<\/li>\n
      • <\/i> Hold liability insurance.<\/li>\n
      • <\/i> Be a Canadian citizen.<\/li>\n
      • <\/i> Be doubly vaccinated according to the requirements of the Palais des Congr\u00e8s de Montr\u00e9al.<\/li>\n
      • <\/i> Be respectful of the health rules related to Covid according to the measures taken by the Palais des Congr\u00e8s de Montr\u00e9al.<\/li>\n

        The Championnat Canadien de Massoth\u00e9rapie LNE SPA Canada takes place in two steps:

          \nVirtual by submitting your 30 min massage videos.<\/li>\n
        • <\/i> Second step in person<\/strong>:
          \nCompetitors selected as finalists will be invited to perform 30 minutes of massage at the Palais des Congr\u00e8s on June 5th during the International Congress Les Nouvelles Esth\u00e9tiques Spa Canada.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

                  Adjusting the height of the massage table. The therapist body alignment, the transmission of the force from the weight of the therapist\u2019s body. The position of the receiver.<\/p>\n

                  Example<\/strong>: The height of the table is too low. This forces the donor to bend his back too much and bend his head, which will give him stiffness and tension in the neck and shoulders.

                      How the choreography of the massage begins and ends. How the therapist enters his massage, step by step and how he finishes.<\/p>\n

                      Remember <\/strong>that this is a massage championship and not a massage therapy clinic. Art must be put forward. The goal is to promote your art, it must be presentable and enchanting.
                      \n<\/div><\/div>\n

                      About contact with the recipient<\/strong><\/p>\n

                      \n

                      Kindness, empathy, listening.<\/p>\n

                      Respect for the privacy of the recipient. The art of draping must be taken into consideration. Discover the parts to be massaged and cover the unmassed parts.<\/p>\n

                      About the Recipient’s Testimony<\/strong><\/p>\n

                      \n

                      The feedback following the massage is considered. The goal is to meet the expectations of the receiver.<\/p>\n

                      Example<\/strong>: the recipient would like a relaxing massage; you offer him a deep tissue massage with a very fast and energetic rhythm.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

                      Technical part (A section)<\/h2>\n

                      The basic essential manual techniques required in your performance to present the therapeutic wellness massage, posterior part from head to toe.<\/p>\n

                      Effleurage, kneading, friction, stretching, neuromuscular massage that tend to relax.<\/p>\n

                      All optional techniques<\/strong>: lymphatic drainage, palpating-rolling, vibration, tapping.
                      \nNo device and equipment.
                      \nNo needles or techniques that pierce the skin.
                      \nNo chiropractic manipulation or osteopathy.
                      \n<\/div><\/div>\n

                      First step in the preliminary selection of your 30 min videos: 5 min of presentation, 23 min of massage. 2 min feed back for the recipient.<\/p>\n

                      Preliminary evaluation of the competition<\/strong>:
                      \nMake a video to present your 30 min massage and send it to us.<\/p>\n

                      The video contains<\/strong>:
                      \n5 min to introduce yourself and explain the purpose and effects of your massage, without any background music:

                      • <\/i> What do you expect from this competition?<\/li>\n
                      • <\/i> You can do an editing using images to highlight the explanation of your massage so that the judges understand your goals well.<\/li>\n
                      • <\/i> The position of your camera(s) must be in landscape (horizontal) and not portrait (vertical) position.<\/li>\n
                      • <\/i> No manipulation of images, slow down or accelerate.<\/li>\n
                      • <\/i> During most of the shooting, position the camera(s) so that judges can see your and the receiver on the table massage in its entirety. This allows us to see that it is you who perform during the same session and that it is the same model.<\/li>\n
                      • <\/i> Show a clear angle so that we can see your work. Do not put yourself on the back of the camera.<\/li>\n
                      • <\/i> Avoid moving the camera in most of the demo if you only use one camera. The goal is to benefit the shooting without giving seasickness to the judges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

                        For your video<\/strong> (but not during the competition at the Palais des Congr\u00e8s), it is possible to massage only one side of the body for the demonstration due to the allowed duration of 25 min to make your demonstration in its best. Choose one side of the body to massage and demonstrate on the chosen side.<\/p>\n

                        The goal<\/strong> is to give the best version of your massage and show your skill. Avoid backlighting, or not enough light. Judges must be able to evaluate your video effortlessly.
                        \n2 min of testimony and the return of the recipient on the massage received.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

                        \n

                        Second step in person<\/h3>\n
                        \n

                        Selected finalists will be invited to present 30 minutes of massage at the Palais des congr\u00e8s on June 5 during the International Congress Les Nouvelles Esth\u00e9tiques Spa Canada.<\/p>\n

                        Following the evaluation of your videos, the judges will choose finalists to participate in person at the ChampionnatCanadien de Massoth\u00e9rapie LNE SPA Canada.<\/p>\n

                        Your participation in person will promote your massage and reveal yourself as a champion of gold, silver, or bronze medal.<\/p>\n

                        30-minute massage in person includes:<\/h3>\n
                        \n
                        \n
                          \n
                        • <\/i> 5min to introduce you and explain the purpose and effects of your massage to the judges.<\/li>\n
                        • <\/i> 23min massage<\/li>\n
                        • <\/i> 2min of testimony and feedback from the receiver on the message received.<\/li>\n
                        • <\/i> It is your responsibility to bring your bedding, sheets, oil and any tools and products necessary for your presentation.<\/li>\n
                        • <\/i> Arrive 45 minutes in advance at the Palais des Congr\u00e8s.<\/li>\n
                        • <\/i> You will be penalized from the championship in case of any delay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

                          A word to the participants not selected:<\/h3>\n

                          Do not be disappointed not to be among the finalists, you will try again at the next championship and learn to improve yourself. By participating, you give yourself a chance to acknowledge your potential. You are exposing your courage and boldness to move forward.<\/p>\n

                              It is important that the massage therapist demonstrates mastery of all basic techniques he chose to demonstrate.

                              2 – Ergonomics during the massage:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                              \n

                              Adjustment to the right height of the massage table.<\/p>\n

                              Use of weight transfer as a force rather than forcing arms and hands. Alignment of the massage therapist according to the position taken during the massage to avoid injuries.<\/p>\n

                              Preventive and protective techniques of the wrists, thumbs, neck, and all joints during the massage. Positioning of the recipient during the massage.
                              \n<\/div><\/div>\n

                              \n

                              3 – Fluidity and rhythm:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                              \n

                              The pace must be adjusted as needed for the goal to be achieved. Is it to tone or relax?<\/p>\n

                              For relaxation, the rhythm must be slow, to warm up and tone, the rhythm must be faster.<\/p>\n

                              The rhythm at the beginning of the massage, in the middle of the massage and at the end of the massage: the crescendo.<\/p>\n

                              How the therapist enters his massage, how he ends up and how he gets out of the massage session.

                              4 – Choreography, Innovation improvement of methods: <\/strong><\/p>\n

                              \n

                              The adjustment of the technique is sometimes necessary when the massage therapist needs to adapt the weight transfer according to his size, his own flexibility, his ability to handle the chosen techniques and his dexterity.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

                              5 – Chor\u00e9graphie, Innovation am\u00e9lioration des m\u00e9thodes: <\/strong><\/p>\n

                              \n

                              The development of a new technique or improvement of the chosen technique can be useful to better adapt it to the needs of the recipient. The combination of other techniques can be an asset to achieve the goal.

                              The consultation part and the acquaintance of the needs of the recipient. Empathetic listening, body reading. Consideration of the objective to be achieved.<\/p>\n

                              Adjust the depth and pressure of the massage. Ensure the comfort of the recipient, ensure his own comfort as a massage therapist.

                              7 – Draping & respect the privacy of the recipient<\/strong><\/p>\n

                              \n

                              Only the massaged parts should be discovered. Draping is an art, covering the customer well for his comfort. Place the cushions if necessary to promote the well-being of the client and the ergonomics of the massage therapist. No intimate parts should be discovered during the massage.<\/p>\n

                              The quality bedding chosen should be visually inviting and pleasant for the recipient.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

                              8 – Presentation and hygiene<\/strong><\/p>\n

                              \n

                              Workwear, uniform, and professional look of the massage therapist. Tied hair for those with long hair, short and clean nails. Impeccable personal hygiene without extravagant artifices (invasive perfume, too intense makeup). Clothing too tight that shows too much silhouette. Keep a respectable, professional, and neutral look.<\/p>\n

                              Everything must be in harmony and presentable. The presentation of the therapist is the business card of the profession, it must make you want to use the proposed service.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

                              9 – Testimony of the recipient: <\/strong><\/p>\n

                              Ask the recipient how he liked his massage, and if the goals are achieved.
